The Significance of Fridays in Islam
Friday holds a special place in Islamic tradition
یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِذَا نُوۡدِیَ لِلصَّلٰوۃِ مِنۡ یَّوۡمِ الۡجُمُعَۃِ فَاسۡعَوۡا اِلٰی ذِکۡرِ اللّٰہِ وَ ذَرُوا الۡبَیۡعَ ؕ ذٰلِکُمۡ خَیۡرٌ لَّکُمۡ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ﴿
its significance as the holy day for Muslims. It is a day of congregational prayer, known as Jumu'ah, during which Muslims gather to offer a collective prayer and listen to a sermon (khutbah). This weekly observance has its roots in the life of Prophet Muhammad and his teachings.
